- Introduction of TOTO’s Cutting Edge Technological Innovations
TOTO LTD., one of the brands that W. Atelier carries, participated online in CES2022, the largest technology trade show in the world, held last January 5 to 8.
The concept of TOTO’s exhibition was “CLEANLINESS – Your Comfort, Our Passion” in response to the increased awareness towards hygiene due to COVID-19. TOTO introduced cutting-edge bathroom featuring TOTO’s technological innovations, including WASHLET, which has good sales performance in the US and other countries.
In the New Shared Value Creation Strategy TOTO WILL2030, which started in April 2021, TOTO defines the products that realize both clean and comfortable lifestyles and environmental awareness as sustainable products. TOTO aims to increase their global popularity while contributing to the realization of a prosperous and comfortable society through environmental awareness.
At CES 2022, TOTO presented SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS such as WASHLET, TOUCHLESS products, and plumbing products that feature loT technology. It will also introduce the concept of the WELLNESS TOILET, which drew a lot of attention when it was released last year.
TOTO will strive to create new value from the perspective of its customers and pursue customer satisfaction that goes beyond expectations based on the corporate message of “Life Anew”.
TOTO featured the new lifestyle value at the exhibit realized by the TOTO CLEANOVATION with the concept “Cleanliness – Your Comfort, Our Passion”. It also promoted the improvement of quality of life (QOL) brought about by CLEANLINESS, realized through TOTO’S SUSTAINABLE PRODUCTS.
WASHLET was launched in1980 and has established a culture of “washing the bottom” in Japan. Through honest promotion activities since its release in 1986, it has steadily become popular in the US as well. Demand for the product has also increased rapidly and has almost reached mainstream popularity due to growing hygiene awareness and the cumulative amount of time spent at home.
With the goal of increasing the ubiquity of WASHLET in the US and other countries, “CLEANLINESS – For Your Body” pursues a new common sense about toilets, the “Evolution from wiping to washing,” its supporting “AIR-IN WONDER-WAVE” technology and the QOL brought about by these changes for a “Completely New and fresh clean experience.”
In addition, “CLEANLINESS – For Your Space” pursues a comfortable space projecting hospitality with AUTO OPEN/CLOSE LID, HEATED SEAT, WARM AIR DRYING, DEODORIZER and oter functions, while ‘CLEANLINESS – For your Toilet pursues CLEAN SYNERGY, a cutting-edge CLEANLINESS tehnology that maintains CLEANLINESS after every use.
TOTO has developed TOUCHLESS technologies including TOUCHLESS FAUCET and AUTO OPEN/CLOSE LID to promote water conservation and safety. Since the COVID-19 pandemic began, there was an increased demand for TOUCHLESS technology which enabled the users to maintain hygiene while using devices without touching levers or buttons.
“Digital Innovation” is one of TOTO’s group-wide innovative activities in its Mid_term Management issues. It employs digital technologies to create new value in its plumbing products. Connecting TOTO’S TOUCHLESS FAUCET, TOUCHLESS SOAP DISPENSER, flush valves for toilet basins and urinals and other loT-equipped products with GP PRO’s KOLO Smart Monitorin System makes it possible to remotely monitor and analyse the conditions of toilets in real time. This results in more effective facility management and the continuous provision of a hygienic, comfortable space for users and improved customer satisfaction.
The WELLNESS TOILET initiative, whose concept was announced at CES 2021 last year, drew many people’s attention around the world. Cutting-edge sensing technologies will make it possible to understand and analyse users’ body conditions simply by using a toilet and deliver wellness recommendations to them via a smartphone app.
TOTO is at the forefront of these technologies by working with startups and research organisations in developing products. The goal is to contribute to people’s health worldwide by continuously improving these sustainable products that offer both clean and comfortable lifestyles while protecting the environment.
