2020 is The Year Of Lessons to Build a Promising Future

Next Post
most complex years we have faced; the disruption that the health contingency represented generated constant and radical changes. As a society, our lives were transformed from one moment to the next; while international economic activity was severely affected. However, we also learned important lessons, which will become the foundation for building a promising 2021. As a consequence of the fact that this year the Digital Transformation of companies became a priority for 80% of CEOs worldwide - according to the KPMG consultancy - the adoption of technologies will continue to be key. And it is not for less, it was thanks to tools such as open source, edge computing, automation and the hybrid cloud, that businesses successfully continued their operations despite the challenges they faced in recent months. In addition to these solutions becoming key elements for the reactivation of businesses, allowing organizations to automate their processes, have greater network speed, gain technological agility and, also, be able to function correctly. In other words, Digital Transformation strengthens the company's response capacity to disruptive events, for which it is important to be prepared as we were taught this year. The modifications in labor practices, such as the home office, which increased this 2020 in Mexico from 39% to 68% -indicates the Report on the status of application services 2020, from F5- not only positioned us as the Latin American country that most supports this work modality; It also showed that it is extremely important to promote cultural transformation. To fully exploit the advantages offered by technological tools, it is necessary to go beyond training and create new processes that allow a quick response to the volatility of the current context; which will most likely persist until the first semester of next year. Given this, as part of this cultural transformation it is essential to encourage collaboration, since through it it is possible to break down barriers, unite thoughts and talents to find the best solutions for the same problem. That is another of the great lessons of 2020: joining forces as the World Health Organization (WHO) has done, which in collaboration with Red Hat has created a sustainable open source-based development infrastructure for its new training center for Vanguard. The results of this initiative go beyond having a more flexible and scalable DevOps platform in support of activities such as management, build checking, code analysis and data visualization; Rather, they have great impact and significance by representing immediate access to important health information to reduce misinformation. Next year it will be time for organizations to show that they learned the lessons of 2020 by initiating or accelerating their Digital Transformation and for this it will be necessary to have a solid and robust technological architecture, capable of responding with agility; in addition to incorporating radical changes focused on building an open and collaborative culture. For companies, governments and society, efforts must continue to be aimed at a timely and efficient reactivation with which - I am sure - the foundations of a future will be built, which will be very different from the one we left this year when the health contingency arrived, because in this new reality, technology will consolidate itself as the indispensable ally capable of strengthening organizations; hence the importance of its adoption. Beyond seeing the great obstacles that we will face, it is time to focus on the opportunities that the new year that is about to begin will bring for everyone.
