The famous Amazon Alexa speakers are configured to play your favorite songs, check the weather in your city, create reminders or events on the calendars, and even keep in touch with your family or friends through the hands-free device that the device has.
However, sometimes colored lights can appear that sometimes we do not know what they mean.
These LED lights are an indicator of alerts and notifications from Alexa, that is, they are a way of communicating their status with the user to identify if they are listening to us or trying to say something . From 20bits we want to make you a list with the various meanings that this diversity of colors can have:
Yellow
A slow yellow burst that appears every few seconds indicates that the assistant is trying to communicate with the user . To know what you want to tell us, we just have to say “What notifications do I have?” or “What messages do I have?”
Blue
A cyan spotlight on a blue ring indicates that Alexa is listening to us , also, if it starts to spin, it means that it is processing the request .
Red
The solid red light appears when the microphone on / off button is pressed. If it is in this color it means that it is deactivated and that Alexa will not listen to us.
Orange
The speaker is in ‘Settings’ mode or is trying to connect to the Internet .
Green
If the green light is flashing, this means that the user is receiving a call on the device . To answer it, we can answer “Alexa, answer ” to start the conversation with our contact, in addition, the light will begin to turn until it is finished.
Purple
The speaker will show this color if it is with the ‘Do not disturb’ function activated , therefore, this light will appear briefly if it receives an order. On the other hand, during the initial configuration of the device it will appear purple if there is a problem with the WiFi network .
White
This means that the user is adjusting the volume of the speaker .
