Halle Berry’s birthday routine just went viral, and it is doing a lot more than showing off a good SPF. Berry turned 60 on 14 August, celebrating at the Kokomo private island resort in Fiji with her fiancé Van Hunt, and the mirror selfie she posted to Instagram was less a vanity shot and more a quiet product manifesto.
The Respin × Joylux Products Taking Centre Stage
Two products in Berry’s line-up come from her wellness platform Respin‘s collaboration with intimate care brand Joylux. The Joylux × Respin Juicy Like a Peach Moisture-Rich Vaginal Gel is a hormone-free vaginal moisturiser aimed at menopause and perimenopause dryness. Alongside it sits the LET’S SPIN Intimacy Gel, a water-based lubricating gel with hyaluronic acid and aloe, priced at $45.
The partnership was announced on 24 September 2024, with products available through Joylux’s own site and retailers including Nordstrom, Bloomingdale’s, Ulta, Neiman Marcus, and Amazon. The stated ambition is to reach the approximately 60 million peri and post-menopausal women dealing with common intimate health issues.
Berry has been saying this stuff for a while now. Speaking previously to Vogue on menopause, she said: ‘It’s nothing to be afraid of. You are your best self at this time. We’re smarter, we’re wiser. We’re like turbo versions of ourselves. That’s what I want women to know and to look forward to this time of life.’ Not quite the language of a typical wellness brand launch, which tends to lean harder on clinical credentials and lighter on the actually useful bits.
Halle Berry’s Birthday Routine Beyond the Intimacy Shelf
The rest of her Fiji kit reads like a thoughtful edit. Olga Lorencin’s Heal the Need: Rescue and Recovery Serum, an ultra-rich face serum with oils, fatty acids, and peptides, is present alongside the Super HA Supercharged Hyaluronic Acid Face Serum. Berry has endorsed both before, and they are products formulated with mature skin in mind.
Sun protection is the Avène Mineral Sunscreen Balm Stick SPF 50. It’s a Avène 100% mineral zinc-oxide stick for face and sensitive areas: easy to apply, unlikely to cause breakouts, and no white cast. Practical for a beach holiday, in other words.
For her flippy bob, cut in the spring and currently decorated with salt air and tropical flowers, there’s the Christophe Robin Regenerating Serum with Prickly Pear Oil, a finishing and repair serum that smooths frizz and protects against heat. The manicure is a creamy pink-nude. Makeup is minimal. The overall effect is someone genuinely enjoying a holiday rather than shooting a campaign.
Her caption, for the record: ‘Today….don’t give a f*ck!’
The Business Behind the Birthday
Respin is not a vanity project. According to Yahoo Finance, the platform drew backing from Silicon Valley venture firm Khosla Ventures, alongside Night Ventures and Range Media Partners. That is not the investor roster of a celebrity side-hustle.
Berry’s health advocacy has a personal foundation. On Respin’s own site, she describes being diagnosed with diabetes at age 22 as the starting point for a lifelong engagement with her health, and the eventual inspiration for launching the platform. The misdiagnosis she described to Vogue, which she says pulled her into women’s health advocacy, came later.
At 60, posting your vaginal moisturiser alongside your SPF stick and tagging it as a birthday selfie is either very brave or very calculated. With Berry, it reads as genuinely both. The Respin × Joylux range is already stocked at the kind of retailers that signal mainstream ambition, not niche wellness positioning. Whether that reach translates into the cultural shift around menopause she is clearly aiming for is the thing to watch.
