  1. Smoking

“Smoking is injurious to your health.” You might have heard this line so many times. However, did you know that it can also affect the quality of your sperm cell and leave you infertile? So, if you are struggling with conception, it is vital to stop smoking right today.

  1. Consumption Of Alcohol

Like tobacco, alcohol affects male fertility by lowering testosterone levels, leading to erectile dysfunction and sterility.

  1. Extra Kilos

The odds of infertility in males also increase with the extra pounds. Obesity causes hormone change which directly impacts sperm cells. It has been found that fatty people have higher estrogen (a female hormone) that affects sperm production, such as androgen. Therefore, cutting extra kilos is one the easiest and most significant ways to boost sperm count. Losing weight also increases sperm mobility and concentration extensively. If your BMI is 25, it is vital to pay attention to the diet plan and do exercise or yoga in routine.

  1. Exposure To Toxins

Environmental toxins such as air pollutants, cadmium, mercury, etc., negatively impact the reproductive health of males. Toxins disturb the follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and luteinizing hormone (LH), which in turn affect sperm parameters like motility, count, and concentration. Hence, it is crucial to take appropriate measures to protect yourself from toxins; avoid fragrances, don’t use plastic boxes, put non-stick cookware on heavy flame, use BPA-free utensils, and avoid chemical foods.

  1. Testicles Heating

As per recent research, exposure to heat to testicles also causes infertility in males. Testicles are the ball-shaped organ that produces sperm, and it needs to be at a lower temperature than the body to produce an adequate number of quality sperm cells. Over the limit, exposure to heat can reduce sperm production and affect their shape, resulting in sterility.

  1. Infection

Certain infections such as gonorrhea, hepatitis B virus, tuberculosis, and HIV result in inflammation in testicles, obstruction of the ejaculatory ducts, and alleviate the spermatozoa’s motility.

  1. Radiation or X-rays.

Exposure to high-frequency radiations like X-rays also affects sperm production. However, it can be treated with certain medications.

What Should Be Included in the Diet Plan to Boost Fertility?

Here are some foods that can overcome infertility and increase the chances of conception-:

  • Nuts

According to some studies, nuts like walnut, hazelnut, cashew nuts can aid in improving the quality of sperm cells. Nuts are loaded with a lot of antioxidants and omega-3 fatty acids and provide essential nutrients to keep sperm health up to the mark.

  • Seeds

There. are various seeds, including chia seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, that are a good source of vitamin E and are pretty effective in the mobility and quality of sperm. Snacking them daily is a good idea to boost fertility.

  • Meat

If you are a non-vegetarian, there is good news for you. Red meat is also good for increasing sperm concentration and health. You can consume it in several ways, by making curry, putting meat chunks in pizza, or making a meat burger. Red meat is a packed plethora of nutrients that improve your overall health.

  • Pomegranate

Pomegranate is another powerful source of antioxidants, and it boosts sperm quality and overcomes sterility in males. Therefore, it would be better to have pomegranate juice with breakfast or put it in smoothies.

  • Fenugreek Extract

Fenugreek seeds are proven to be very effective in increasing the libido and sexual performance of males. Not just that, it also increases testosterone levels and strengthens the reproductive system. Its extract is easily available in online stores; you can consume it by consulting your doctor.

  • Maca Root
