Brits desperate to get their hands on a Prime energy drink are being warned against buying from overseas sellers. The money saving team at NetVoucherCodes.co.uk have looked at how much it’ll cost to buy the different flavours from the US and Canada with some mind blowing price increases. Prime hit the headlines again over the holidays when discount retailer Aldi stocked the sought after drink for just £1.99 a bottle. Now desperate shoppers are queuing for hours and travelling for miles just to pick up a bottle of the hyped energy drink.
But the experts at NetVoucherCodes are warning that for those desperate enough to buy from international sellers, they could be spending hundreds of pounds more than the products are actually worth. They looked at highest and lowest costs by flavour and factored in postage to have the item shipped to the UK, comparing sellers on Ebay in the UK, USA and Canada. The priciest bottle came in at a massive £214.68 and the lowest average price at £10.90. Buying Blue Raspberry from the USA could set UK shoppers back a whooping £214.68 or $257 dollars. Once the £10.40 postage cost is factored in, Brits could be shelling out £225.58. That’s enough to buy 237 one pint cartons of milk. The average resale price in the UK for this flavour is £10.90.

Consumer expert at NetVoucherCodes.co.uk, John Stirzacker said: “Every now and again we see crazes like this one where everyone wants to get their hands on the product. “As Aldi has shown, this doesn’t have to be an expensive product but prices are becoming crazy because of the huge demand. “Comparing resale prices in the UK against those in the USA and Canada really highlights the amount people are prepared to shell out to buy this product and desperate Brits are really paying over the odds. “The cost of buying and having the Blue Raspberry flavour shipped to the UK is insane, but in comparison, Lemon and Lime is a bit of a bargain. Blue Raspberry certainly seems to be the most popular. “Grape has proved to be another costly flavour. The highest resale price if you’re buying from the USA is £140.59 and in Canada £104.13. The average price in the UK is £15.15. “Other flavours including Ice Pop, Meta Moon, Orange and Tropical Punch are fairly evenly priced. “Our advice to shoppers keen to buy a bottle is to keep a close eye locally – that’ll be much better for your pocket. “If you are looking or buying from a seller overseas, or even in the UK, make sure you’re aware of just how much it’ll cost you, factoring in postage and any additional taxes.”
